Rev. Dr. Lamont F. Foster, Sr.




Dr. Foster is the Pastor of Union Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church located in Albemarle, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with BS in Business Administration; North Carolina Central University with a MA in Agency and School Counseling; and Appalachian State University with Ed.D. Educational Leadership. Dr. Foster is a graduate of Hood Theological Seminary earning a Master’s of Divinity. He has also been accepted into Hood’s Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in pastoral counseling. He is a fully licensed professional counselor in mental health #7702 (North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, NCBLPC). He has served as a school administrator in North Carolina and Ohio. He has over 20 years in public service, and a wealth of experience in agency counseling. He has taught at Livingstone College and served as co-founder and director of the Livingstone after-school and summer enrichment programs. He has also taught at Appalachian State University, Winston-Salem State University and Ashland University. He has also taught as a guest Lecturer at Johnson University located in Knoxville, Tennessee instructing undergraduate and graduate students in educational psychology and middle school curriculum and instruction. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated (Beta Mu Lambda Chapter). He is married to Reverand Yolanda Foster and they have three children and three grandchildren. Dr. Foster has taken his rightful place as the President of the Stanly County Chapter of The NAACP.
